8/11/2011 STRICTLY MUSICALS - SELLING FAST!![]() Tickets for Strictly Musicals are selling fast now, with just 2 days to go before curtain up, its set to be a big success! This family show features the best of the west end, with songs from award nominated musicals such as Les Miserables, Love Never Dies, Chicago, Legally Blonde, Wicked, Spamalot and Hairspray. Come along and support your local performing arts charity - proceeds from the show will go towards our 2012 production of The Sound of Music - enabling 14 children to take part in the show at absolutely no cost to them. Involvement in theatre has been proven to benefit people of all ages, but expecially children, teaching them communication skills, meeting new people and growing confidence. Childrens auditions for The Sound of Music will take place on Sunday 4th December. For more info CLICK HERE The Mayor of Test Valley, Counsellor Zilliah Brooks joined us at our mini-concert to officially launch our new name and to celebrate our newly awarded charity status.
![]() We can now confirm that the Charities Commission as awarded us with charity status as of Tuesday 13th September 2011. Following the announcement at our EGM in July, our committee spent most of August filling in forms and signing documents for our application. We are absolutely thrilled that our hard work has paid off. Being a charity will bring several benefits to Andover Musical Theatre Company as well as a financial saving of about £2500 per year thanks to discounts on things like advertising and the ability to reclaim VAT. In addition we can claim Gift Aid on all donations made to the society including fees paid by both our members and friends. Best of all we can officially collect monies for ourselves using collection buckets giving us the opportunity to raise funds for our future development. Our President Sue Parker will be officially launching our new name and charity status at our FREE concert on Saturday 17th September, 4pm at The Lights, Andover, where we will welcome the Mayor of Test Valley, Cllr Zillia Brooks and local MP Sir George Young. Entry to the concert is completely FREE however tickets are on a first come first served basis so we advise early arrival. 3/5/2011 AMOS Carnival Concert Confirmed!!!We can now confirm that AMOS will be performing on stage at the town park concert during the Andover Carnival on Sunday 31st July!

Images courtesy of Phil Evans www.philevansphoto.co.uk 21/2/2011 Concert for Life success!The audience at last nights Concert For Life at The Lights, hosted by Andover Carnival were treated to an evening of entertainment from a mix of local performers.... from the very young stars of The Long Overdue Theatre School, and the dancers from the Ruby Slippers Show School to the likes of talented singer Jake Ward and not forgetting our very own AMOS members!
Despite a few technical hitches, the show seem to be well-received with the audience responding to the funny and sometimes moving performances of pop songs, ballads and showtunes. A sell-out success, the concert sold around 240 tickets, the proceeds of which will be donated to the Rotary International Shelterbox Appeal. www.andovercarnival.org www.shelterbox.org www.myspace.com/jakewardmusic AMOS members Louise Ellison, Paul Marsh and Ann Sinclair are performing with a group of other local singers in a charity concert at The Lights this coming Sunday 20th February 2011.
The Concert For Life is organised by Andover Carnival committee and has been produced by Mark Lazenby and Maureen Fail, to raise money for the Rotary International Shelterbox Appeal. Our AMOS representatives will be singing songs from Cabaret, Les Miserables, Evita, Jekyll & Hyde and Little Shop of Horrors to display our talent and versatility! There are still a few tickets remaining from The Lights Box Office 01264 368368 Members of Andover Musical Theatre Company helped raise over £2000 for local charities on last night by performing at the Mayors Showcase Concert at The Lights.
The concert, which was a sell-out, included performances from a number of local performing arts groups and soloists specially selection by the Major of Test Valley, Councillor Zilliah Brooks. Heather Whittam, Director of The Lights, and organiser of the concert was full of praise for those who performed, she said "I cannot praise the hard work of you and the performers enough and all together it made for a fabulous show which everyone seemed to thoroughly enjoy." |
