22/5/2012 Jekyll & Hyde Auditions Tonight!Nervous or excited?! The auditions for Jekyll & Hyde will take place at 7.30pm tonight at The Lights!
The running order will be as follows... Jekyll Danvers Emma Utterson Lucy Board Members Solo Lines Auditions will take place on the stage and the panel will be seated in the 'Pullman' section. 7.30pm start. Anyone watching the auditions must be seated behind the panel and there is to be no movement in the theatre during an audition. Everyone auditioning for the same role will be asked to wait in Room 1 (our rehearsal room) and will then be asked to come on to the stage one at a time (we hope to have a runner to help with this). Carol will make an announcement before the auditions start about how people will be notified of the successful cast list. If you have not paid either you membership fee or £5 audition fee, this MUST be paid BEFORE the auditions start. You must also have completed an audition slip with your contact details on. Good Luck! THE Lights, er…hills are alive with the sound of music. A popular am-dram choice means I am on number three so far this year and know the original like the back of my hand, so what surprised me was Ann Sinclair’s interpretation of Maria: feisty, warm and bubbly – not like the original but perhaps even better. Paired with Martin Noke as Captain Von Trapp, the show took off. All the principals were believable, sang well and made the parts their own, from the graceful Fraulein Schrader (Kizzy Romer-Lee) and cheeky Uncle Max (Paul Marsh) to the lively Von Trapp children. The flow was interrupted occasionally by set changes and musical fillers by the talented orchestra and often by the noisy matinee audience but the cast reclaimed the show whenever they hit the stage. The set, costumes, lighting and sound fitted the bill. Edelweiss may haunt my dreams but the quality of this production means I’m not jaded…yet! By Rebecca Case - Southern Daily Echo 1/5/2012 Introduction to Jekyll & HydeDirector Claire Nias will be introducing her vision for our production of Jekyll & Hyde on Tuesday 8th May. This session is really important if you are interested in taking part as all the audition cuts etc will be given out. Pre-audition rehearsals will then take place on Thursday 10th May, Tuesday 15th May and Thursday 17th May. These will be run with time-slots so you will need to complete an 'Audition Slip' to let Denyse Coles know if you are auditioning and she will schedule rehearsal time for everyone. There will be special rehearsal for the whole chorus on Thursday 15th from 7.30-8.30 so Musical Director Neil Streeter can introduce some of the music. The auditions will take place on Tuesday 22 May. If you are looking to join us for this production, please contact our Membership Manager Ann Sinclair by email [email protected] |
