Andover Actor Wins Award!
Eddie Nias, a member of Andover Musical Theatre Company, has been presented with a Curtain Call Award by the Southern Daily Echo for ‘Best Actor in an Opera’ in recognition of his performance as The Major General in their 2013 production of The Pirates of Penzance.
Eddie was praised by the judges who described him as a director’s dream, superb as the manic Major-General. Although nominated under the Opera category, the version of The Pirates of Penzance performed was very much a modern musical and Director Carol Robinson was praised by for delivering a funny, fast-paced, visually attractive production, described as an ‘altogether faultless show’.

Rehearsals start next week. We can't wait to get going with the fab musical!
A small group of us donned our Scrooge costumes and spent 2 hours Carol singing in Andover's Chantry Centre on Saturday. Raising money for Naomi House we sang a variety of festive favourites such as White Christmas, Jingle Bells, Bethlehem and Hark the Herald Angels Sing!
Passing shoppers seemed to enjoy of performance and gave very generously - we won't be counting up the collection until after Scrooge but the buckets were very heavy! Fingers crossed the people of Andover have been generous!
AMOS will be carol singing in The Chantry centre on Saturday 21st November and Saturday 12th December to raise money for Naomi House Childrens Hospice.
Last year we were pleased to have raised over £300 for the childrens charity who have struggled this year due to some of their fund being tied up in an Icelandic bank. It is such a worthy cause that helps so many children in our area, this year we would like to raise even more so in addition to our carol singing we will also be collecting donations at the theatre during our production of Scrooge.
