21/12/2009 AMOS Christmas Ball a great success!A great time was had by all who attended the AMOS Christmas Ball on Saturday 19th December 2009. The flurry of snow that day made for a very atmospheric evening of magic and sparkle!
The evening commence with Buck Fizz and entertainment from local Magician Archie Manners. who at just 16 years old was absolutely amazing and had guests mezmerized with his tricks. Andover Sound DJ Paul Newman acted as Master of Ceremonies and did a fantastic job, giving the welcome speech and later presenting the AMOS Awards. Comedian Lee Hume travelled through the snow from Brighton to be with us and performed two brilliant sets in between dinner, with his individual style of conversational humour that made us chuckle! He's a rising star of the comedy world so keep an eye out for him in the near future! After dinner Paul and Lee presented the AMOS Awards - a light hearted reiew of the last five shows and an opportunity to give members recognition for the hard work and fantastic performances. All in all it was a fantastic evening, and our thanks go to Mark Lazenby and his team at The Quality Hotel for providing a delicious meal and holding the event, and to photographer Andy Brooks who was there snapping gust portraits and candid shots throughout the evening - photos will be online asap. The judges said that Paul had a beautiful singing voice and had excellent characterization. The awards will take place on the 29th January 2010 at The Devere Grand Harbour Hotel in Southampton. Fingers crossed! There are now just a few tickets left for the AMOS Christmas Ball on Saturday 19th December. The line of entertainment has all been booked and we are set to have a fantastic night.
