To hear our promo CLICK HERE We're thrilled to have Lisa Faye on board as Vocal Coach for our FREE Musical Theatre workshop at The Lights on Saturday 17th September. From her early beginnings performing around the Northern Club Circuit fronting several bands Lisa Faye has packed a lot into her short career so far. Her story sounds all so familiar with that of fellow Yorkshire singer Jane McDonald with whom Lisa Faye teamed up back in 1997 to record an uptempo version of the famous Chess hit, ´I Know Him So Well´ which went on to give Lisa and Jane their first No1 hit in America! With a wealth of performing experience she began training with local dance and drama groups back home in Rotherham, South Yorkshire before heading for London to attend the famous, “BRIT School” and then onto The Royal Academy of Music, in London, studying Music Theatre with Mary Hammond. Lisa’s singing has led her to work with a diverse range of artists such as Mike Batt, The Commitments , Tony Hadley and Charlotte Church to name but a few. She has also worked for the world renowned record companies, “Music Factory”, the Jive Bunny Creators, appearing in videos, on “Top of the Pops”, and as a session singer for ‘Going For A Song’. Back in 2005 she performed in her own creation ‘Dinner With A Diva’ at Edinburgh’s Fringe Festival which was based on her experiences as a singer on a cruise-ship. in 2009 Lisa produced and performed other new shows, ‘Diva’s – The Concert’ and ‘Musical - The Concert’, then in August 2010 she performed her show, ‘Streisand – The Concert’ at Edinburgh Festival Fringe to sell out audiences and returned with a 5* review. February 2011 and Lisa Faye made her solo debut in London’s West End with her own show, ‘Streisand – The Main Event‘ at Trafalgar Studios, Whitehall, London. The show was on for 3 consecutive Saturdays at the start of this year and has led to the show going on a tour of the UK later this year! When not performing Lisa Faye manages a very successful and rewarding teaching business sharing her knowledge of voice and piano with budding “stars of tomorrow”. Lisa Faye Broadhead – LRAM / ALCM / member of the Association of Singing Teachers and the British Voice Association Lisa Faye teaches singing and piano privately on a one to one basis in Hampshire. She has been teaching for over 10 years and started teaching on graduating from The Royal Academy of Music in 1998 where she achieved her qualification to teach voice. Lisa achieved a further teaching Diploma for which she achieved Honours, specialising in Music Theatre with The London College of Music. Since 1998 Lisa has taught over 500 students and is still counting!!! Over 50% of her students have achieved Distinctions in their singing exams with LCM, (london College of Music) with a 100% pass rate in both singing and piano overall. Some of her students seeking to further their career in the Arts have gone on to successfully audition and attend schools specialising in the arts including: Arts Educational Tring, Bird College, London, Winchester University and Cygnet Training Theatre. We arrived at 10am to set up our stall and spent the day doing face painting and handing out flyers and balloons before our performance on the main stage. With thousands of people in Vigo Park enjoying the sunshine and all the entertainment we soon had a queue waiting for face painting, in fact we had to start turning people away! 4pm came around sooner than expected and we were backstage warming up before our performance, addrenalin pumping we were greeted on stage by the audience who cheered us on as we started our opening number "Don't Stop Believin'" from the hit tv show Glee! The children then took to the stage with their Oliver medley, and despite a technical hitch the kids did really well, especially Finlay Gallimore and his solo of "I'd Do Anything" and Martin Noke who got a few cheers for his Fagin impression during "You've Got To Pick A Pocket". Ann Sinclair and Paul Marsh then took centre stage for "Suddenly Seymour" from the cult musical Little Shop of Horrors, with some lovely harmonies and Anns powerhouse vocals, it was a hit with the audience who gave them a pturous applause! Our finale of "One Day More" from Les Miserables made quite an impact. Apparently we could be heard half way across Andover! A great way to end a brilliant day. People continued to come up to the stall until late in the evening, with over 100 people entering our free raffle. There were many sightings of purple balloons all over town, so I think we can safely say that Andover Musical Theatre Company definitely made it's mark. A BIG thank you and well done to all those involved. 17/7/2009 AMOS planning Christmas Ball!!!To finish off the year in style, the AMOS Committee are planning a Christmas Ball. |
