Evita cast announced!

After holding our pre-audition rehearsals and auditioning for the principle roles in our next show, we are delighted to announce the cast for our next production of Evita which will be performed at The Lights, from 13th - 16th November.

A huge thank you and well done to everyone who auditioned. You made the job of selecting a cast very difficult and gave the audition panel a great deal to discuss!

Our cast is as follows;
Eva Perón - Jane Hindley
Che Guevara - Jonathan Baron
Juan Perón - David Hall
Mistress - Laura Budd
Magaldi - Paul Marsh

This promises to be a great show and we will keep you updated on the progress as we begin rehearsals.  In the meantime, if you would like to get involved with our show in any capacity, please contact us on [email protected]

FAME team organising trip to see Cabaret at Mayflower in Southampton

Picture
Tracey is booking tickets to see Cabaret on Firday 7th September at The Mayflower in Southampton.

WILLKOMMEN, BIENVENUE, WELCOME

Bill Kenwright presents the multi-award winning production of Cabaret. Kander and Ebb’s landmark musical turns Weimar Berlin of 1931 into a dark and sexually charged haven of decadence, at the heart of which the legendary Sally Bowles performs at the infamous Kit Kat Klub...

Since its Broadway premiere in 1966 and the famous movie version with Liza Minnelli and Joel Grey, CABARET has won a staggering number of stage and screen awards including 8 Oscars, 7 BAFTAs and 13 Tonys.

Internationally celebrated singer/songwriter Will Young and acclaimed actress Michelle Ryan make their musical theatre debuts in the hugely anticipated re-imagining ofRufus Norris’ double Olivier-award winning production ofCABARET which is being choreographed by world renownedJavier De Frutos.

THE MUSCIAL SENSATION
Ever since winning the inaugural series of Pop Idol in 2002,Will Young has been one of the UK’s most popular and successful music artists. He holds the record for the fastest selling debut single in British chart history and his current Platinum selling album, Echoes, went straight to number one in the charts. Will has also enjoyed a successful acting career, which saw him appear alongside Dame Judi Dench in the film Mrs Henderson Presents, and it is the combination of these talents which has led him to star in Cabaret.

Michelle famously beat a host of Hollywood names to play the title role in the cult US NBC TV show The Bionic Woman. Since then she has appeared in popular television dramas including Doctor Who, Merlin and Jekyll and contemporary films including 4,3,2,1. Michelle is also well known for starring as Zoe Slater in Eastenders.

CABARET features show-stopping choreography, dazzling costumes and some of the most iconic songs in musical theatre including Money Makes The World Go Round, Two Ladies, Maybe This Time and of course Cabaret.

Come to the Cabaret – it’s divine decadence darling!

Anyone interested in going should speak to Tracey.

A Male Chorus - what a wonderful sound

I simply have to tell you all about the wonderful singing rehearsal we had last night...
As my character doesn't appear until the end of the first act, I haven't been to many full chorus rehearsals, but last night we had singing practice for the whole cast and it was brilliant!
I thoroughly enjoyed it - singing four part harmony with a room full of people and a piano is just fantastic fun! The best part though, was listening to our male chorus, which for this production is made up of, wait for it.... nine men!!! Boosted in numbers by new members Scott Goodair, Rob Talbot and Jason Davenhill, and with the return of John Parker, the mens chorus sounded just lovely.

An am dram society can never have too many men though, so if you or anyone you know might like to join us - get in touch!
