Getting involved with AMTC starlights
Each year, there is one main Starlights production. This takes place at The Lights theatre in Andover, usually at the very end of July, early in the summer holidays. To get involved, a child, or a parent/guardian, simply needs to register their interest by sending an email to [email protected]
Each show begins with an introduction event or workshop, where the kids and their parents/guardian can meet the creative team, hear about our plans for the production and ask any questions that they have. This event will usually take place in the spring and anyone who has expressed an interest in taking part will receive an invitiation. Confirmation of the event will also be posted on the Starlights social media pages, so please see the links below and follow us. Prior registration is not compulsory to take part, it just ensures we are able to let you know the important information when it becomes available.

How much does it cost?
In order to take part in our main production, a show fee (currently £120 per child) is payable at the start of the rehearsal period in the spring.
There is no fee involved to attend the introduction event or audition for a part. Rehearsals begin once the auditions have taken place and a commitment is required to be in the show.

starlights membership
Anyone aged between 11 and 17 can take part in our mian show, as long as their show fee has been paid. Starlights does not require any more commitment than one show at a time. However, most of the children form lasting freindships and want to return each year. When this happens, the best way to stay involved is for them to become a member of AMTC Starlights.
Becoming a member of Starlights costs £60 per year, ideally paid via a standing order of £5 per month. However, membership comes with a 50% discount on the show fee, so being a member costs exactly the same per year as the one-off show fee. However, members of Starlights will also enjoy the following benefits:

The auditions will then take place on a Saturday or Sunday evening a couple of weeks after the introduction event. Information about what is required to audition for each part will be confirmed at the introduction event but it will usually be one of the character's songs and a section of their dialogue.
The cast is chosen at the auditions by the Director and Musical Director of the show. The results of the auditions are usually announced that evening.
REHEARSALS
Rehearsals begin after the auditions and take place every weekend until show week. A rehearsal schedule will be provided by the show's director confirming when and where the rehearsals will be.
