Whether they’re dreaming of the spotlight or just love being part of a fun, creative group, Starlights offers a friendly and welcoming space to build confidence, learn new skills, and put on an amazing annual show.
It doesn't matter if your child is a complete beginner, or already a triple threat, we provide an safe and inclusive opportunity young people from all walks of life to act, sing and dance, perform on stage, having fun and loads of laughter along the way. It’s a brilliant way for kids and teens to express themselves, make friends, and be part of something special.

Andover Musical Theatre Company are pleased to present... Starlights, our youth theatre group for under 18's
Part of our aim as a charity is to educate and encourage younger people in the Andover area to take part in performing arts so, after AMTC staged a number of the big shows that include children, we wanted to find a way to maintain the enthusiasm the children had gained for musical theatre. We felt that the best way to achieve this was to set up a youth theatre specifically for them and so, led by our then Chairperson, Carol Robinson, we founded Starlights, with Carol directing the inaugural production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat in August 2017, supported by Musical Director, Colin Gray.
Grease and Sister Act followed, until the COVID pandemic put a pause to performing. But due to popular demand, we re-ignited Starlights in 2024, with a fantastic production of Matilda at the Wellington Academy Theatre. While many of our previous performers had grown up and gone on to pursue their dreams of becoming a performer at a variety of prestigious stage schools and universities, we were delighted to welcome a new influx of young stars to the rehearsal room!
Performing on stage is fun and rewarding, providing the children opportunities to learn performance techniques and discover what goes on behind the scenes. They also make new friends, building confidence and create memories that last a lifetime.

Safeguarding
Safeguarding children during their time with us is a high priority. To reassure you, many of our Starlights production team are teachers, and we take great care to ensure the appropriate DBS checks are done, and appropriate licenses sought from the local council.
